Welcome to Joan Clark Art

A passion to paint.

It is very satisfying that people love my work and a number of people have told me that they could live with any of them.

“Intentionally informal, her still lifes with vibrant colours are demanding attention.”

“The colours are strong and memorable and the images remain in your mind for days.”

Selling my work is the easy part, parting with them is the hard part but as my husband always says, “you can’t keep them all.”

Although my portfolio includes mostly watercolours of seascapes, landscapes, buildings and florals, I enjoy the simplicity and fun of acrylics and these give me the freedom to paint much larger works.

There have been many exhibitions, tutorials, murals, phone book covers, painting live on television and even a book launching.

My work has been exhibited locally, nationally and internationally.

My best exhibition ever was at the Gisborne Museum and Art Centre where I had 70 works for sale, 58 sold on opening night and there were 20 commissions to follow.

There are always other creative things happening in my studio from developing a board game, paper mache, children’s books to setting up Marlborough Creative Artisans.

I enjoy being creative and firmly believe, “busy people are happy people.”

Commissions are welcome | Private Viewings by arrangement | Cards and Limited Edition Prints available.
